Biodegradable polymers for the treatment of tuberculosis. Part II. Requirements and characteristics of materials

Abstract

In the second part of the literature review, the selected biodegradable polymers used in medicine, including drug delivery systems (DDS), were characterized in terms of their properties, methods of synthesis and requirements specific to the particular applications. Due to their effectiveness in DDS systems, a potential use of biodegradable polymers as polymer carriers of antitubercular substances was indicated.
