Novel models for description of steady shear flow curves of non-Newtonian liquids

Abstract

Selected novel models and methods of describing viscosity curves in steady shear flows of non-Newtonian liquids are presented. The models resulting from free volume theory, those being a generalization of the Carreau equation and so called multi-mode models, which make it possible to describe the viscosity of rheologically complex systems, are discussed. A few practical examples for describing the viscosity curves of various liquid compositions using these models are given.
