Plastics recycling accordingly to green chemistry idea

Abstract

An assessment of feedstock recycling of plastics wastes from the point of view of green chemistry rules has been done. Feedstock recycling and plastics wastes utilization to fuels have been considered. It has been stated that energy consumption for wastes pretreatment as well as for final products treatment should be minimized. All products obtained should be fully utilized either as chemical sources or as fuels. Existing capacities of cement mills, iron blast furnaces or cokeries should be used. According to green chemistry rules, in case of non-classified or contaminated wastes, the best way of their utilization is incineration with energy recovery.
