Biodegradation of poly(ether urethane)

Abstract

A microreview of studies on the biodegradation of poly(ether urethanes) (PEUR) has been presented. The results of enzymatic degradation studies as well as PEUR oxidation conducted in vivo and in vitro have been discussed. Moreover, an evaluation of the influence of a microorganism-enriched compost environment and structural modification on PEUR degradability has also been presented.
