Investigation of stability of ester-urethane prepolymers

Abstract

Ester-urethane prepolymers have been prepared from the oligoestrol (Poles 55/20) and an excess of 4,4-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (Table 1) The influence of both the rotational speed of the viscometer pin and the percentage content of NCO groups on the viscosity of the products was determined. The stability of the prepolymers, expressed as a change in them of the NCO group content, was evaluated during a four-week storage period (Fig. 3). The chemical structure of the obtained prepolymers was determined on the basis of FT-IR spectra (Figs. 4, 5).
