Characteristic of surface condition of special slip layers created in extrusion process

Abstract

The methods of slip layers preparation especially via spraying during the extrusion process (Figs. 2, 3) were presented. It is demonstrated this method is useful for preparation of thin layers, made of special slip emulsions basing on polydimethylsiloxane oils (Table 1), showing satisfactory slip properties. Conditions of the slip layers obtained were characterized on the basis of rheoacousric investigations (FT-IR spectra of stretching samples - Figs. 4, 5, Table 2) as well as of estimation of surface free energy (SFE) calculated from contact angle (ACA, RCA) measurements (Tables 3, 4). It has been proved that spraying method let prepare the slip layers from the materials not giving satisfactory results in case of co-extrusion.
