Similarity of polymers flow in the channels of processing tools

Abstract

Summary - The problems of modeling of the phenomena concerning the polymers flow in processing tools channels have been examined from the point of view of possibility of modeling results reference to the actual subjects i.e. theory of probability requirements keeping. Special attention has been paid to rheological and thermal processes and to criteria numbers used to their similarity defining. Among these numbers the following have been characterized: Reynolds's, Weber's, Grashoff's, Fourier's, Peclet's, Prandtl's, Nusselt's, Graetz's, Brinkman's and Biot's ones. It seems to be useful to attempt to determine the values of criteria numbers in relation to polymers processing. This way the proper planning and carrying out the model experiments can be easier.
