Shear strength and long-lasting strength of glue lap joints made of Epidian 57 hardened with triethylenetetraamine (TETA) have been investigated. Two ways of hardening were used: one- step hardening (7 days and nights at room temperature) and two-step hardening (12 hours at room temperature + 6 hours at 80degreesC). Comparable shear strength of a glue hardened both ways has been stated (Table 1). Long-lasting strength of a two- step hardened glue appeared to be much better than of one-step hardened one (Figs. 5 - 9). Investigations showed little creep resistance of one-step hardened glue while two-step hardening of a glue joint improves creep resistance significantly. It looks as if one-step hardening, recommended by producer, did not secure full hardening of Epidian 57 adhesive.
