Synthesis of polystyrene-b-polyurethane-b-polystyrene copolymers through ARGET ATRP polymerization method. Part II. Chemical structure, thermal and surface properties

Abstract

The chemical structures of the synthesized previously [1] bromourethane macroinitiator (MBP-PUR-MBP) and urethane-styrene copolymer were determined using FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectral methods and confirmed by the results of thermal analysis (DSC and TGA). The studies of surface properties (roughness, contact angle and SFE) of polymer films prepared from these copolymers indicate, by an increase in hydrophobicity, the presence of block segments derived from PS.
