Polymer solar cells

Abstract

A comprehensive review of the literature on the topic of polymer solar (photovoltaic) cells (SC, Polish OS) has been undertaken in this paper. The different types of SC, their methods of operation as well as the parameters that characterize them such as power conversion efficiency (h, PCE), fill factor, (FF), open circuit voltage (VOC) and short circuit current (JSC) (Table 1) were presented. The reviewed solar cells were classified according to the type of polymer applied as active layer of the photovoltaic cells and the circuits formed (Figs. 2 and 3) by them. Solar cells made up of complex polymers containing components such as fullerenes, nanotubes or nanoparticles in the active layer were also described.
