The automated method of sequential supervising of the cycle of thermoplastic injection molding. Part 2, Fuzzy correction algorithm

Abstract

Paper presents selected variants of the automated method of real-time sequential supervising of the injection molding process. The foundations of the method were discussed in part I. (see [1]). Fuzzy logic models of supervised moulding's qaulity characteristics were used in the method described in this paper (Fig. 1 and 2). The structure of the control algorithm is shown as well as the methodology of building the set of fuzzy rules for process correction fuzzy controllers, which are able to perform any multi-criteria supervising strategy (Fig. 3-6). Elaborated method was applied to simultaneous supervising the length and tensile strength of normalized PE-LD molding. Empirical tests proved high efficiency of the method, considerably reducing the distribution of moldings' length deviation and increasing their tensile strength (Fig. 7).
